Aman scores 2nd Hatrick of Season in 7-1 victory

SGHC hosted Newbury HC in a top of the league clash.
SGHC shocked the visitors with 3 early goals from Amandeep Singh and Jasyal Benwara within the first 12 mins of the game starting. The early lead allowed SGHC to bring on their new signing Arron Barolia, who quickly adapted to the high energy of the game on the right hand side flank.
The early goals shook Newbury, from which they didn't recover. Amandeep added to their misery with an excellent solo effort 20 minutes into the game to complete his successive hattrick. New struggled to get into the game making rare attacks into the Hosts penalty area. Newbury conceded a penalty corner on the half hour which was converted with text book drag flick by Mandeep Daggar.
Half time whistle allowed Newbury to re-group. Newbury started the 2nd half at much higher enegry levels and driving to get back into the contest.
some uncharacteristic unforced errors from SGHC allowed Newbury to attack the Hosts goal early in the 2nd half, forcing some great saves from Aran Dhak in the SGHC goal. slightly against the run of play SGHC extended their lead through another goal from Jasyal, assisted by Gurpreet Saini
Newbury pulled a goal back through a penalty short corner, following a period of pressure from the visitors.
The game was all but complete after Yuvraj Singh following a fine cross from Veer Patel.
Overall it was a fine performance from all areas of play from SGHC and credit to Newbury for continuing to chase the game despite the early setback.
